Be the Very Best You Can Be!
If there’s anything we love, it’s a great quote. We dig into self-help and motivational books and love when a new bit of wisdom pops up that can help us reach our goals. Here are eight of our favourites that we think are gems for getting you to reach your potential.
1.) Decide Who You Are
“The only person you are destined to become is the person you decide to be.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson
We’ve said it several times before: you have to know WHO you are and WHY you’re doing what you’re doing if you want to be successful!
2.) Cut Out Negative People
“Keep away from people who try to belittle your ambitions. Small people always do that, but the really great make you feel that you, too, can become great.” – Mark Twain
We all have people in our lives that bring nothing to the table. The sooner you stop spending time with those people, the more time you’ll have for personal development and success.
3.) Do Something You Love
“No man can succeed in a line of endeavor which he does not like.” – Napoleon Hill
We all have to do things that we don’t like every once in a while, but when you make a career out of it you set yourself up for decades of unhappiness. Find a way to make money doing something that you love; you’ll be amazed at how easy your “work” feels from then on.
4.) Build Habits
“We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, therefore, is not an act but a habit.” – Aristotle
It takes two days of dedicated work to turn a behavior into a habit. What habits can help you be more productive and more successful? Can you focus on them for only two weeks?
5.) Step Out of Your Comfort Zone
“Move out of your comfort zone. You can only grow if you are willing to feel awkward and uncomfortable when you try something new.” – Brian Tracy
If you don’t experience personal growth, your business won’t experience growth either!
6.) Don’t Dwell on Bad Experiences
“If you don’t like something, change it. If you can’t change it, change your attitude.” – Maya Angelou
You don’t need to be an endless source of optimism to succeed in network marketing or any other business. However, you will be held back if you dwell on negative experiences or people. Like Maya Angelou says, we can gain a lot from changing our attitude when dealing with unpleasant experiences.
7.) Make Your Ideas Bigger and Your Excuses Smaller
“Think big and don’t listen to people who tell you it can’t be done. Life’s too short to think small.” – Tim Ferriss
Excuses can stand in the way of even small goals. Set your sights on some big dreams instead, and don’t let anything stand in the way of what you want to achieve. Why let something that doesn’t matter get between you and the things that matter most?
8.) Work Harder than Anyone Else
“Here’s how I’m going to beat you. I’m going to outwork you. That’s it. That’s all there is to it.” – Pat Summitt
No matter what you do, there’s going to be competition. You don’t have to be rude or hyper-competitive to succeed, but you will need to put in the work. Look at the people around you, see what they’re doing, and then work harder. It’s as simple as that!
